Dr. Ashley Cross is a pastor, nonprofit executive, educator, and nationally recognized advocate whose life and leadership are centered on one driving conviction: people and families can heal, hope, and thrive when they are surrounded by healthy relationships, meaningful support, and the transforming love of God.
Beyond the local church, Dr. Ashley is the Founder and Executive Director of HOPE585, a Rochester-based nonprofit working to transform the child welfare landscape by strengthening families and helping prevent unnecessary involvement in the foster-care system. Through mentorship, advocacy, family support, community partnerships, and systems-level change, HOPE585 works to move youth and families from systemic trauma toward power, belonging, healing, and hope. Under her leadership, the organization was recognized with the 2025 Roc the Future Systems Change Award. (Hope585)

Yet beyond titles, degrees, awards, and accomplishments, Ashley’s greatest commitments are to Jesus, her family, and the assignment God has entrusted to her life. She and Melvin are the proud parents of four daughters—Jordan, Harper, Madison, and Riley—and together they have built their family around faith, service, generosity, and a commitment to demonstrating the Gospel.
Whether she is preaching, leading an organization, advocating for families, developing leaders, or pouring into her own family, Dr. Ashley carries a message of hope, healing, restoration, and possibility. She believes that when people encounter Jesus, discover that their lives have purpose, and are surrounded by a community committed to walking with them, generations can be changed.
